DIOVAN FOR HEART FAILURE PATIENTS

Heart failure is a serious condition. It occurs when the heart cannot pump enough blood to your body. Without the oxygen and nutrients it needs, your body can't do as much. Heart failure can make you feel tired all the time, cause shortness of breath, and make everyday activities difficult.

It is important to take good care of your heart and health every day. Take your medication daily, make changes in your lifestyle, and see your doctor regularly.

IF YOU HAVE HEART FAILURE, YOUR DOCTOR OR HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL MAY PRESCRIBE DIOVAN BECAUSE:

When taking Diovan, patients were less
likely to be hospitalized for heart failure.

In patients not receiving an ACE inhibitor,
Diovan helped improve the pumping of the heart.

Diovan works by blocking angiotensin II, a chemical
that causes blood vessels to constrict, and this
can potentially lead to unhealthy changes to your heart.

If you have heart failure, ask your doctor if Diovan may be right for you.

Diovan is used to treat heart failure in adults. In these patients, Diovan may lower the need for hospitalization that happens from heart failure. Diovan HCT (valsartan/hydrochlorothiazide) is not approved for this use.
